We are excited to announce the kickoff of the Professional Development Series, which is designed to give graduate students an organized introduction to the necessary skills, practical strategies, and knowledge for a career as mathematicians, statisticians, and data scientists.
First Topic: Art of Academic Research

What: A panel composed of three professors and senior graduate students will share their insights and experience on
(1) how to find a thesis advisor
(2) how to identify good research topics
(3) how to conduct research
(4) how to find a research collaborator
The discussion will be followed by a Q&A Session.
