2.9. Repeating a Course

Courses and InstructorsRegistration InformationRepeating a Course

Grading for Repeated Courses

When undergraduate students repeat Regular Graded undergraduate courses, the student's grade-point-average (GPA) will reflect only the highest grade earned in the repeated course. Credit is earned only for the completion that is included in the GPA.

Limit for Repeated Courses

Students may attempt the same course at the university no more than three times. If you feel you need to repeat a course for a fourth time, the Math Department has a process to request an exception to this policy. Note that this is not always approved. There may be better options for the student to complete this requirement, such as taking the course at a community college, or selecting a similar major with a lower math requirement. Email math-placement@arizona.edu if you wish to request this exception.

See the Registrar's Course Repeat webpage for Dates and Deadlines, and other information on repeating courses.
