1.1. New Items for Fall 2025

FY Student Math Placement Resources for Advisors or HS Teachers/Counselors/Recruiters → Math Placement Advising Resources for U of A Advisors → New Items for Fall 2025

New for Fall 2025:

• New Prep for Calculus AP exam, PCL (second year).  
  • A score of 3 or higher awards credit for Math 120R
  • Anticipated scores are not used for placement, so student will still need a placement through SAT/ACT or PPL for June FY orientation sessions
• First Year Students get one attempt at the PPL (not two) without a fee if they take it prior to the first week of classes.  There is a $26 retesting fee after the first attempt. 

Other 

• The PPL Assessment is no longer available year round. 
  • The test will be open in early March (usually the first Monday in March) through  the first full week of fall classes and around October 1 through the first full  week of spring courses.
